También durante su trabajo en Frisco ISD, el objetivo principal de Haleigh era hacer que los recursos para las familias y los maestros fueran accesibles para que cualquier estudiante al que se prestara servicios pudiera tener los apoyos que necesitaba en su propio entorno único. Su recurso fue tan ampliamente utilizado por el personal y las familias del distrito que finalmente el departamento de educación especial lo publicó y lo mostró como la lista de recursos estándar durante la pandemia de Covid-19.

 

Durante el tiempo que Haleigh estuvo en Frisco ISD, brindó servicios grupales a todos los tipos de clases de educación especial centralizadas, desde la escuela de la primera infancia hasta el programa para mayores de 18 años. Durante tres años, fue la única musicoterapeuta de Early Childhood School y facilitó servicios grupales a más de 1000 estudiantes solo en este campus. También trabajó con estudiantes que tenían musicoterapia en su Plan de Educación Individual (IEP) y diseñó planes de sesión creativos que abordaron las metas específicas del IEP del estudiante. Pudo realizar estas sesiones a través de apoyo en persona, virtual y de consulta para garantizar la continuidad de los servicios. Haleigh también tiene mucha experiencia en los procedimientos y leyes que rodeanReuniones anuales de revisión y despido (ARD)y completar evaluaciones compatibles con IDEA  mediante elManual de evaluación de musicoterapia para educación especial(SEMTAP).

 

En 2021, Haleigh tuvo su primer hijo (Magnolia) con su esposo de seis años, Jonathan. Después de varios años de luchar para quedar embarazada y tener a Magnolia prematuramente, Jonathan y Haleigh supieron una vez que nació que era hora de acercarse a la familia. Haleigh se graduó de Friendswood High School y asistió a los 12 años de educación en el sistema de Friendswood ISD. Sabía que no había mejor lugar para criar a su hijo y comenzar una práctica. 

 

Útiles armonías se creó con la idea y la relación que tenía Haleigh con su hija Magnolia. Mientras estaba en el útero, Haleigh le cantaba "You Are My Sunshine" a Magnolia todos los días. Junto con el significado de esta canción, y Magnolia siendo el bebé arcoíris de Haleigh, se creó el logotipo y la idea de las armonías útiles. En el logo se puede ver un pentagrama con una línea melódica. Esta línea dice "Me haces feliz cuando el cielo está gris". La intención de esta frase musical de la canción emparejada con el arcoíris es mostrar a todos los clientes de Served Harmonies que hay esperanza en el proceso terapéutico y que es un puente entre dónde estamos y hacia dónde vamos.

You will not be hired simply to fill open appointment times. As a growing practice, we want your perspective, creativity, and professional interests to matter. You will have meaningful autonomy in your clinical work and opportunities to help create programs, resources, systems, and community partnerships alongside Haleigh and Sophie.

 

If there is an area you care deeply about - community outreach, social media, caregiver education, online resources, marketing, program development, school partnerships, or something we have not considered yet - we want to hear your ideas. This role is ideal for a therapist who can work independently without ever feeling like they are working alone.

What your caseload may include

  • Individual music therapy sessions across the lifespan, with a primary emphasis on children

  • Adapted music lessons

  • School-based music therapy services in public or private educational settings

  • Small and large therapeutic groups

  • Music enrichment programs

  • Services in therapy centers, facilities, and community settings

  • Community events and outreach programs

  • Travel from the Friendswood clinic to nearby surrounding communities as caseload needs develop

Who we hope to meet

  • A graduate of an AMTA-approved music therapy degree or equivalency program.

  • Board Certified as a Music Therapist (MT-BC). Exam-eligible candidates may be considered and must meet Helpful Harmonies' certification timeline.

  • A warm, reliable, organized, and responsive communicator with strong clinical judgment and documentation skills.

  • A flexible therapist who is comfortable working with varied ages, populations, group sizes, and service settings.

  • A confident musician who can adapt voice, guitar, keyboard, percussion, and other tools to client needs.

  • Someone who values neurodiversity-affirming care, client autonomy, relationship-based practice, collaboration, and continued growth.

  • Someone with a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel locally for services.

  • Someone able to complete required background, reference, and credential checks.

Experience with children, disabled or neurodivergent clients, school-based services, IEP teams, adapted lessons, or group facilitation is especially helpful, but newer clinicians with strong values alignment and a desire to grow are encouraged to apply.

What will you do

  • Provide individualized, evidence-informed music therapy services that reflect each client's strengths, goals, communication style, and support needs.

  • Complete assessments, treatment plans, data collection, session documentation, progress reports, and other required clinical writing accurately and on time.

  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients, caregivers, schools, facilities, and interdisciplinary team members.

  • Plan and facilitate individual sessions, adapted lessons, groups, enrichment programs, and community events.

  • Maintain MT-BC status and practice within AMTA standards and the CBMT Code of Professional Practice.

  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, training, feedback, and ongoing professional development.

  • Contribute to an area of practice growth that aligns with your interests and the needs of the community.

Compensation and benefits

  • Pay: $25-$30 per hour, based on certification, education, experience, and specialized skills.

  • W-2 employment

  • Compensation for all required work time, with mileage reimbursement handled separately

  • General and professional liability insurance coverage

  • Healthcare stipend, subject to current eligibility terms

  • Paid time off: Five days annually for part-time employees and ten days annually for employees working 30+ hours, beginning after three months of employment

  • Paid company holidays for eligible employees under current policy

  • Mileage reimbursement for approved business travel

  • CBMT maintenance-fee reimbursement

  • CMTE tracking support from the first day of employment and up to $100 per year in approved CMTE reimbursement after three months

  • Full access to Google Workspace, Google Voice, SimplePractice, and Canva

  • Full use of Helpful Harmonies' instruments, books, movement materials, props, and clinical inventory

  • Ongoing support, feedback, training, professional development, and regular performance check-ins
